Alpha Phi Omega Philippines, Incorporated 75th Anniversary
APOAAS189 celebrated the 75th anniversary with Leadership, Friendship, and Service on 2nd March 2025 (Sunday) from 5 PM to 11 PM at Clover Room, Civil Service Club, 91 Bukit Batok, West Avenue 2, Singapore.
It was a private gathering filled with inspiring messages from the APO PHILIPPINES National Officers, namely Bro. Archie Bugarin (BOT Chairman), Atty. Bro. Fritz Sapon (BOT Vice Chairman), and National President Bro. Kevin Dy.
The occasion was graced by the Guest of Honor, Past National President of APO PHILIPPINES (DY:1997-1999) Bro. Marnie Alquiza. He has also held several high positions and key roles in the Philippine Government, such as Under Secretary of DOLE, Regional Director of DPWH, and many more. He left us with a quote: “A man without ambition is like a leaf without direction!”
The celebration would not have been complete without the notable guests Bro. Jan, Sis. Jackiko Mascareñas, and Bro. Vincent de Paul. The visiting brethren made the beauty pageant more exciting, with Sis. Jackiko as the chief judge and Bro. Vincent de Paul serenading our candidates.
Our past Presidents, Bro. Richard Lalu, Bro. Christian Fabian, Bro. Malvin, and Bro. Mon Dela Cruz, reminisced about their experiences as presidents of APOAAS189, leaving the members inspired to carry on the legacy.
Friendship prevailed with the game “Eh Ikaw,” where Bro. Jojo, Sis. Jackiko, Sis. Elaine, Bro. Val, and Ms. Agnes were announced as the winners.
Service magnifies humility, and we had 5 brothers who bravely accepted the challenge in the beauty pageant, Ms. APOAAS189 2025. A one-of-a-kind segment full of fun and laughter! The pageant empowered women, as March is also Women’s International Month, with five beauties displaying their wit and talent while exuding humility by disguising as beautiful ladies. It was the surprise entertainment segment of the event and later became the highlight of the evening! Nobody knew about the pageant except for the sorority officers of APOAAS189 (Sis. Joan, Sis. Marian, Sis. Grace, Sis. Julie Hertz, and Sis. Dora). The winner received a cash prize of $50, a sash, and a crown. There were two more special awardees: Dancing Queen and Ms. Charming.
Furthermore, the recipients of the Leadership, Friendship, and Service Awards were Sis. Grace, Sis. Marian, and Sis. Dora, respectively.
An announcement about the upcoming APOAAS189 Election on 25th May 2025 (Sunday) at Jasmine Room 1 (CSC@Bukit Batok) was made by Bro. Christian Fabian (APO ARA COMELEC Chairman) on behalf of Bro. Leo Perez (APOAAS COMELEC Chairman).
Kudos to our officers, advisers, sponsors, and council of elders who planned the event as early as January 2025. A special thanks also to our member Bro. Jefferson for the shirt design, and Bro. Val for the banner design and as the official photographer of the event.
Shout out to our ever-coolest brothers who, in one way or another, either loved or enjoyed their experiences at the event: Bro. Jayvin, Bro. Ryan, Bro. Hanzel, Bro. Angelo, and Bro. Reygie! Mabuhay kayo at salamat po nang marami. A special shout out to our PRO, Sis. Julie Hertz, for guiding our program as emcee.
The real diamonds that last forever are the APOAAS189 MEMBERS who find time, exert effort, contribute talents and finances, and support the event morally and socially to make the celebration a shimmering and shining occasion.
